Dagestan participates in All-Russian festival “Firebird”

Makhachkala, April 21, 2016. Dagestan is represented at the XI Festival of folk craftsmen and artists of Russia entitled "Firebird", held in Moscow Sokolniki fr om April 20 to 24, the press-service of Moscow House of Nationalities informs.

"The exhibition is like the map of Russia, wh ere every region introduces the most vivid and wonderful traditions of its crafts to the visitors. It is responsible and honorable to be among the participants - craftsmen. One can not only enjoy, but also buy everything as a souvenir; the miniature lacquer paintings, hand-made laces, wood and metal art pieces, porcelain, ceramics and jewelry. The Republic of Dagestan takes part in the exhibition for the first time" - the spokesperson noted.

"This time, we are the debutants of the exhibition, but brought a wide range of products; silver jewelry from Kubachi presented by handicraft masters Nariman and Aligadzhi  Khurdaevs, the Balkhar ceramics made by Patimat and Maysat Gammadovs, as well as the wood inlay products produced by Untsukul art factory OJSC. The enamel, gold-plating, engraving, ceramic dolls in national costumes, dishes, original decoration and traditional ceramic toy are only few things produced in Dagestan" - the executive director of the Association “Folk arts and crafts of Dagestan” Said Ninalalov said.

Ninalalov added that the Association "Folk arts and crafts of Dagestan" was created to promote the Dagestan crafts and to support artists and businesses by reducing the tax burden, as well as for joint participation in exhibitions, to create the packaging of a single species, to search market outlets and to solve many other pressing issues.

"The main purpose of our association is to gather all Dagestan masters under the aegis of the organization and to help them with the promotion of their products. Our leader Rasul Kalandarov is a successful businessman from Novosibirsk, who builds a great art and commercial complex in his native village Balkhar ", - Ninalalov resumed.
