Dagestan municipalities to get 60 million rubles for development of tourism infrastructure

Dagestan authorities distributed 60 million rubles for development of tourism infrastructure and arrangement of viewing points among municipalities of the republic, the Minister of Tourism and Folk Arts and Crafts of Dagestan Emin Merdanov said on Monday.

"We provide support to the municipal formations for development of infrastructure and improvement of viewing points. In total 60 million rubles is envisaged this year, not more than 10 million rubles per municipality. The tender had already been held. This is a new support measure, it has been implemented since 2022", - Merdanov said. The top official specified that the projects worth over 100 million rubles have been tendered in the current year.

Besides, Merdanov says, this year grants for the purchase of equipment for the guest houses in the rural areas amounted to 500 thousand rubles. At the end of 2021 the tourist flow into the region for the first time exceeded 1 million people, the increase compared to the previous year made 29.1%. This year, according to the forecasts of the region's authorities, Dagestan will receive at least 1.5 million tourists.
