Dagestan has good infrastructure for supporting small and medium-sized businesses, said minister of industry, trade and investment Yussup Umavov at the meeting with Natalia Larionova, the director of the department of small and medium-sized businesses and competition of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

Dagestan ministry’s press service reports that the participants discussed developing competition in the domestic market, boosting consumer cooperation, lending issues, and distributing and granting subsidies to the republic to support small and medium-sized enterprises in 2015.

At the meeting, Umavov spoke about the work they had done in 2014 implementing the program titled "Developing small and medium-sized businesses in Dagestan in 2014-2016". He also reported on the grant support and enhancing innovative enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses. "We have four operating business incubators in place in the republic. In February 2015, and we plan to start a business incubator in Kizlyar city," the minister commented and invited Larionova to the official opening of the new business incubator.

During his working visit to Moscow, Umavov also met with Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Georgy Kalamanov and the leadership of the Strategic Initiatives Agency, and attended a meeting of the working group for developing industrial production in the North Caucasus Federal District held in the Russian Ministry of North Caucasus Affairs.
