Dagestan exposure presented at MITT / Travel and Tourism exhibition in Moscow

Moscow, March 23, 2015. Dagestan Tourism Committee is representing the republic at the 22th Moscow International Exhibition "MITT / Travel and Tourism" launched on March 18 in Expocentre, a source in the committee told RIA Dagestan.

This year, Dagestan stand and all the advertising, information and souvenir products prepared for the event are devoted to the upcoming 2,000th anniversary of Russia’s most ancient city Derbent. The exposition attracted attention of a large number of visitors both from Russian regions and foreign countries.
On the second day, the business program of the exhibition featured its pearl - MITT Tourist Industry Summit - attended by tourism experts including chairman of the Dagestan Tourism Committee Muslimat Halimbekova.

MITT is among the top five of the world’s tourist exhibitions highly evaluated by the international community – in 2014 the exhibition assembled 2,056 exhibitors from 203 countries and regions of the world. Preliminary estimates conducted by the organizers say this years’ event will attract 5-9% more visitors than a year before to amount to 40,000.

The Domestic tourism part of the show has a special role – it is presented by a separate pavilion exposition named "Russia" which brings together Russian resorts, regional governments, and tour operators involved in domestic and inbound tourism.
