Dagestan exports lamb to Tatarstan

Makhachkala, March 13, 2018. The first 20 tons of lamb have been delivered to Tatarstan within the framework of cooperation agreement. In the near future, Dagestan plant growers intend to supply rice to the region.

On the sidelines of the All-Russian Forum of Agricultural Producers in Krasnodar, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov told about the agreement signed with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan. The first batch of lamb - 20 tons had already arrived in Tatarstan. The first batch of rice – approx. 20 tons will be shipped from Dagestan in the nearest future.

As to the minister, if Dagestani products cause great demand among Tatarstan consumers, the regions should expand the trade turnover and cooperation.

As noted earlier, the Minister of Agriculture and Food RD Kerimkhan Abasov said that Dagestani companies and Tatarstan agreed on the delivery of lamb - about 2 thousand tons per year and rice - from 5 to 8 thousand tons per year. Three enterprises located in Makhachkala, Kizlyar and Nogai districts of the republic will become the contract performers.  

Recall, the delegations from more than 70 regions of the Russian Federation, the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture RD as well as the experts from the largest Russian enterprises participate in the All-Russian Forum of Agricultural Producers, which have taken place in Krasnodar on March 11-12. The issues of rural development, the development of the country's agroindustrial complex, the improvement of state support mechanisms for the industry, as well as the ways to increase the profitability of agricultural producers and farmers were considered by the forum participants.
