Dagestan delegation participates in General Assembly of World Farmer Organization in Moscow

Makhachkala, May 30, 2018. From May 28 to May 30, the VII General Assembly of the World Farmer Organization (WFO) is taking place in Moscow. As to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan, Abdurakhman Aburikov, the president of the Association of Farms and Agricultural Cooperatives of Dagestan (AFKOD) is participating in the assembly.

On the eve, the Russian Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev, the WFO President Theo De Jager, the President of the Association of Farms and Agricultural Cooperatives of Russia Vladimir Plotnikov took part the opening ceremony of the General Assembly. In his welcome speech, Dmitry Patrushev emphasized that it was a great honor for Russia to receive farmers from all over the world for the first time.

"More than 170 representatives of farmers' organizations from 55 countries of the world gathered to participate in the work of the General Assembly. We can say that these days Moscow will become the world capital of the farming" - the federal minister said.

The main theme of the General Assembly this year relates to the efforts to increase the role of farmers and their associations in the formation of effective agriculture in the context of global climate change. The thematic discussions are devoted to the global role of farmers in achieving the goals of food security, adaptation to climate change and the introduction of innovations.
