Dagestan Business Ombudsman participates in Council of Europe’s workshop

Dagestan Business Ombudsman Bashir Magomedov takes part in the workshop on "Corruption risks and mechanisms for protecting entrepreneurs’ rights in the Russian Federation" which is taking place February 18-19 in the Bashkortostan republic, the press service of the ombudsman’s office reports.

The event is part of the joint project of the presidential business ombudsman and the Council of Europe. It brought together Bashkortostan Business Ombudsman Rafael Gibadullin, chairman of the Bashkortostan State Assembly, chairman of the Bashkortostan Interagency Security Council, representatives of the ministry of land and property relations, the Arbitration Court, the Prosecutor's Office, and other officials.

The main topic was generalization of Russian and European practices of combating corruption. Participants were presented the manual "Corruption risks and protecting entrepreneurs’ rights" - a practical guide for companies to develop anti-corruption programs. This guide can be used by both large and small or medium-sized enterprises. It will help the companies fulfill their legal and business obligations of detecting and preventing corruption.

After the discussion, participants came up with recommendations for further improvement of mechanisms for protecting businesses from corruption in Russia. Commenting on the event, Bashir Magomedov said they had laid special focus on effective regional public policy in combating corruption and corruption practices that are successfully employed in Bashkortostan at the domestic level.
