Dagestan and Monocities Development Fund Leaders sign general cooperation agreement on Kaspiysk development

Makhachkala, May 18, 2015. On Friday, May 15, Dagestan Head Ramazan Abdulatipov held a meeting with Dmitry Skrivanov, Director General of the "Monocities Development Fund". The parties discussed the development of single-industry town of Kaspiysk.

Noteworthy, the non-profit organization established by Vnesheconombank in October 2014 by order of the President of Russia, is designed to create new jobs and to attract investments to monocities with the most difficult socio-economic situation. The Fund helps the Russian regions to implement investment projects by financing and training management teams.

Having welcomed the guests, Ramazan Abdullatipov stressed out the importance of state program of monocities development implemented under the personal supervision of President Vladimir Putin.

"This is very important because the level of industrial development of Dagestan significantly decreased compared to the Soviet period. For example, in Buynaksk, the proportion of industrial workers in the total workforce is about 3%, and I remember the old data showing that even in the period of the October Revolution, the total workforce made 5.7%. In Kaspiysk and in Kizlyar, the situation is slightly better about 10-12. To implement the state program of monocities development is highly promising for us, "- Ramazan Abdulatipov pointed out.

In his turn, Dmitry Skrivanov thanked Dagestan Head for the warm reception and voiced the main purpose of his visit:

"Monocities Development Fund is a kind of continuation of community working group aimed at the modernization of single-industry towns. We have just visited Kaspiysk and inspected the available facilities. Certainly, it is necessary to perceive the fund as a partner, we will provide all possible assistance. Together, we will be able to implement those projects that you conceived."

However, he stressed that one of the important tasks of a non-profit organization was to personify the responsibility for the infrastructure, investment properties for ensuring its successful implementation.

"Our organization is a young, but I am sure we will succeed. I hope that people will get a job, and Kaspiysk will become developed", - Dmitry Skrivanov stressed.

The highlight of the meeting was the signing of a general cooperation agreement on Kaspiysk development between the Monocities Development Fund and Dagestan leadership.

The cooperation agreement provides co-financing expenses of subjects and the municipal formations in order to implement measures for the facilities construction or reconstruction necessary for the implementation of new investment projects in monocities. Besides, the fund will assist to implement investment projects, as well as to create management teams.
