Makhachkala, March 11, 2016. As of beginning of 2016, the agricultural producers of Dagestan are provided with fieldwork machinery only by 35-40% and need 13 billion rubles for modernization before the spring planting campaign starts in the region, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic informs.

"Taking into account the large amount of spring field work, the ministry officials have developed an action plan that provides for the finalization of preparation of tractors, tillages, seeding, forage and grain harvesters for the planting campaign " - the ministry department spokesman said.

5 thousand tractors, 350 combine harvesters and other agricultural machinery needed to meet the needs in fieldwork machinery. Over the past autumn and winter, the agricultural enterprises of the republic have repaired more than 2.5 thousand tractors, 530 combine harvesters, more than 1.7 thousand units of tillage and seeding machines, 910 units of forage and other equipment worth approx. 250 million rubles. However, for the present time only about 70% of machinery is ready to work in farms, the rest is still being repaired.

The estimated need of agricultural producers in diesel fuel for spring field work totals 5,800 tons – the agency’s interlocutor said.
