Makhachkala, February 7, 2020. On February 1, in accordance with the Fishing Rules for the Volga-Caspian fisheries basin, the coastal sprat production began. In Dagestan, about 30 enterprises are engaged in coastal fishing of this type of fish. Last year, of the total number of sprats (more than 3,500 tons), the share of coastal fishing amounted to 1,251 tons (about 35%). According to the press service of the North Caspian Federal Agency for Fishery, from February 21 to April 30, the fishermen may catch all other types of fish resources allowed for fishing.
