Battal Battalov meets with Frederick Paulsen in Moscow

Moscow, August 3, 2015. Dagestan minister of agriculture and food supply Battal Battalov, being on a working visit to Moscow, met with Frederick Paulsen, the honorary consul of Russia in Lausanne (Switzerland), a ministry official told the RIA "Dagestan". The meeting related to investment of the viticulture in Dagestan was held on behalf of Dagestan Head.

According to the spokesperson, Frederik Paulsen is a recognized scholar, businessman, the chairman of the Board of Directors of a large pharmaceutical company. In Russia, Paulsen is known as a brave polar explorer, awarded by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, with the Order of Friendship for his active participation in the expedition of Russian deep-water diving apparatus to the bottom of the Arctic Ocean, carried out under the supervision of the Hero of the Soviet Union A. Chilingarov.

During the meeting with the consul, Battalov Battal noted that Dagestan is one of the centers of viticulture and winemaking in Russia. Favorable climatic conditions, established traditions and experience make this destination one of the most promising for investment.

Frederik Paulsen said that investors are interested to invest in laying vineyards over the area of 500 hectares. In this regard, the honorary consul expressed readiness to send a working group to inspect the situation in Dagestan.
