Makhachkala, December 19, 2014. A new asphalt plant was solemnly opened in Krasnoarmeisk village, Makhachkala, a source in the information policy department of the city administration’s press service told RIA Dagestan.

"Every year lots of roads are repaired and built in Makhachkala. Accordingly, the quality of the road surface is quite an issue. The new asphalt plant is an example of an enterprise producing modern high-quality products and demonstrating an innovative approach. The plant is the future of Makhachkala," said deputy Makhachkala mayor Kamil Iziev.

Head of the housing and public utilities board Magomedsaid Gassanov gave a tour of the new production facility and briefed on the unique technology allowing them to achieve high performance, "The facility was brought to Dagestan on November 16, and it was installed quickly as possible – it took us 20 days to do it. The plant can produce over 600 tons per shift allowing us to timely and efficiently repair the roads. The only thing remaining is landscaping the surrounding area and waiting for the plant components to be delivered to get started."

It’s a fully automated production – the plant can be operated by a single operator, a motortruck driver, a serviceman for the technician bitumen station, and a duty electrician.

Interestingly, the plant has a mixing plant, several tanks to store bitumen in, storages for mineral powder, rubber and gravel, and a power station. In the nearest future, they plan to build several residential buildings: a locker room, a washroom, and a restroom for the factory workers.

City officials believe that the asphalt plant will help relieve the existing traffic problems in Dagestan capital.
