Abdussamad Gamidov and Russian minister of regional development discuss Daghestan’s socio-economic development

Makhachkala, June 18, 2014. On June 17, Daghestan Prime Minister Abdussamad Gamidov, who is in Moscow for a working visit, held a series of meetings. He met with Russian minister of regional development Igor Slyunyayev to discuss a number of important issues related to Daghestan’s socio-economic development, the press service of the Daghestan head and government administration told RIA "Daghestan".

Gamidov emphasized that Daghestan has become a leader among other Russian regions in economic development dynamics, "This achievement is a result of the teamwork of the Daghestan leadership and the Russian ministry of regional development."
Slyunyaev responded that he was sure that the priority Daghestan development projects, in their own way unique and successful, will play a positive role in developing the North Caucasus region as a whole. His recommendation to Daghestan authorities was to do their best to attract direct investment, including foreign investment.

At the meeting, participants also discussed development of Makhachkala-Kaspiysk agglomeration, allocating federal budget funds for celebrating Derbent’s 2,000th anniversary and building engineering infrastructure in the first phase of the investment project named "Creating car production complex at the premises of "Aviaagregat" JSC. They also exchanged opinions on financing the resettlement of the Novolak region’s population to a new location – the money will fund completion of housing construction, building of social and engineering infrastructure, and preparation of the reservoir and the tailrace of the Gotsatl HPP.

The Russian minister promised to provide all possible assistance and support in all the issues under discussion, noting that Daghestan has always occupied a privileged position in producing building materials and mechanical engineering development.
