Makhachkala, September 13, 2016. Dagesatni Prime Minister Abdusamad Gamidov has undertaken a working visit to Kazbekovsky district of the republic, where the top official studied the tourism development prospects of the Sulak Canyon, the press service of Dagestani Head and Government administration reports.

As informed, the Sulak canyon is one of the most popular tourist destinations of Dagestan. This is the grand canyon of Russia. In its depth (1 thousand. 920 meters) is significantly superior to Colorado located in the United States.

Currently, the tourists can visit the tourist complex "Chayka" located in the vicinity of the water basin of the Chirkeyskaya Hydro Power Station reservoir - the second largest in the world. Besides, a special viewing platform was constructed in the settlement of Dubki. It gives a perfect opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the river valley.

Dagesatni Prime Minister praised the potential of the territory and instructed the republican state bodies to send experts to the Kazbekovsky district for the detailed assessment of the tourism development prospects.

Besides, Abdusamad Gamidov proposed holding athletic fees for all types of martial arts in the area. In his opinion, the athletes could conduct their training sessions in the region to prepare for the Olympic Games.
