600 hectares of new vineyards planted in Dagestan

Makhachkala, May 4, 2016. Dagestan farmers planted new vineyards on the area of about 600 hectares, the press service of the republican Ministry of Agriculture and Food reports.

In 2016, the republic municipalities plan to plant new vineyards on the area of 1.2 hectares. For the time being, the specialists managed to cultivate only 51% of the land allotted. Besides, the investors intend to plant additionally 850 hectares of vineyards, bringing the total area up to 2 hectares - the press release of the ministry runs.

Derbentsky (108 hectares), Levashinsky (101 hectares) and Magaramkentsky (84 hectares) municipal districts of the republic achieved the highest indices in planting new vineyards.
