Makhachkala, January 12, 2014. In 2014, 10 agricultural consumer cooperatives were established in 8 municipalities of Dagestan as part of the "Effective agriculture" priority project, a source in the republican ministry of agriculture and food supply told RIA Dagestan.
The ministry also worked out and approved a target program named "Developing agricultural consumer cooperatives in Dagestan in 2014-2016" to boost their activities. Currently, establishing agricultural consumer cooperatives is one of the key trends in the republic’s agriculture.
To involve local authorities to establishing agricultural cooperatives and helping them operate, they had amended the draft action plan of implementing the "Effective agro-industrial complex" priority project for 2015 in Dagestan. In particular, they added a clause providing establishment of at least one agricultural consumer cooperative in each municipality," the source said.
