MAKHACHKALA, March 23 – RIA Dagestan. During the month of Ramadan (February 18 – March 19, 2026), users of the Tooba platform set a new record by directing RUB 292,904,387 to charitable causes, surpassing the previous year's total of over RUB 250 million. A total of 987,400 transactions were completed, with 75,000 users contributing to 880 targeted fundraising initiatives across eight regions of Russia.
The funds were used to purchase food and clothing, cover rental costs, organize children's events and iftars, and facilitate zakat al-Fitr. The platform introduced a rating system and achievements to encourage participation, with the top three donors contributing over RUB 17 million, 3 million and 1.5 million respectively. Tooba founder Ramazan Medzhidov noted that the growing community of donors reflected a positive trend in systematic philanthropy.
