MAKHACHKALA, August 19 – RIA Dagestan. 5,975 Dagestan residents received high-tech medical care under compulsory health insurance between January and June 2026, the Territorial Compulsory Health Insurance Fund reports.
Funding for this care totaled RUB 1.416 billion, with an average cost of RUB 237,100 per high-tech hospitalization. The territorial program exceeded its targets, reaching 110% in volume and 103% in financial terms.
The most in-demand specialties were traumatology and orthopedics (26%), cardiovascular surgery (20%), ophthalmology (15%) and otorhinolaryngology and neurosurgery (9% each). In terms of target fulfilment, the best results were seen in thoracic surgery (100%), otorhinolaryngology (78%), rheumatology (69%), and oncology (64%).
The program also covered high-tech care for 378 patients from other regions, with associated costs of RUB 99.9 million. Compared with the same period in 2025, the volume of care rose by 4%, while funding increased by 16%.
