MAGARAMKENTSKY DISTRICT, July 29 – RIA "Dagestan". Chairman of the Government of Dagestan Magomed Ramazanov paid a working visit to Magaramkentsky District to oversee the reconstruction of the "Tagirkent-Kazmalyar" automobile checkpoint on the Russian-Azerbaijani border, joined by Rosgranstroy Deputy Head Kamil Galimov.
As a cornerstone of the "North–South" transport corridor handling 230 trucks daily, the site is undergoing comprehensive modernization under a 2022 turnkey contract with "Gefest" LLC, slated for completion in the fourth quarter of 2028.
The upgrade will increase daily vehicle capacity from 200 to 2,360—including 1,100 trucks—and add 12 new lanes (from 8 to 20 total) to eliminate backups and speed up clearance processes.
Stressing the facility’s overarching strategic importance, Ramazanov called for unwavering commitment to construction deadlines and immediate finalization of the state expert review.
