MAKHACHKALA, April 6 – RIA Dagestan. The federal government has launched a strategic debt relief program, canceling about two-thirds of budget loan obligations for 11 regions. The republics of Altai, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Mari El and Tyva are among the beneficiaries, along with Zabaykalsky Krai and Bryansk, Kirov, Ryazan, Saratov and Ulyanovsk oblasts. The total write-off comes to RUB 10.1 billion.
The regions had channeled the borrowed funds into modernization of housing and utilities, relocating citizens from dilapidated housing, recapitalizing industrial development funds and implementing national projects. The initiative represents a deliberate effort to boost regional economic resilience and infrastructure modernization in line with national economic priorities.
