MAKHACHKALA, June 26 – RIA "Dagestan". Temirlan Abutalimov, Acting Minister for National Policy and Religious Affairs of Dagestan and Hero of Russia, held a working meeting with a delegation of researchers from the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The visiting group included Olga Vendina, Anton Gritsenko, Maria Zotova, Kir Lamsakoy and Anastasia Lyubimova. The scientists are currently engaged in a major research project funded by the Russian Science Foundation titled "Geostrategic Territories of Russia: External and Internal Challenges".
This initiative is closely tied to the development of Russia's Spatial Development Strategy and is being carried out within the framework of the nation's priority areas for scientific and technological advancement.
The meeting covered a broad spectrum of critical topics, notably interfaith and interethnic dynamics across various regions and the ongoing development of a unified all-Russian identity. At the end, the visiting researchers thanked the Ministry for its instrumental role in supporting this major research initiative. To gain a more holistic understanding of both regional and national trends, the scientists also met with officials from the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Dagestan during their visit.
