Dagestan Explores Key Iranian Port to Boost International North-South Transport Corridor
During a visit to Iran, the Chairman of the Government of Dagestan Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov toured the Anzali Free Trade Zone in Gilan Province — a critical trade gateway for Iran's relations with Russia. The working visit included a detailed review of the infrastructure capabilities at the Port of Anzali, a key hub handling substantial volumes of Russian imports and exports.

Abdulmuslimov highlighted the advanced development of the port's infrastructure and its significant potential for enhancing cross-border trade. As to the top official, Makhachkala Commercial Sea Port actively expands its export-import routes within the framework of the International North–South Transport Corridor (INSTC).

"The successful modernization of Makhachkala Port will unlock new opportunities for international cooperation and stimulate the growth of cargo flows" - Dagestani Prime Minister said. The visit is part of a broader effort to strengthen trade and economic ties with Iran and to study best practices in modern port logistics.
