MAKHACHKALA, July 10 – RIA "Dagestan". On July 12 - 25, Dagestan will host the V International Biennale "Kubachi Tower", the largest professional graphic art event in Southern Russia.
Supported by a governmental grant and organized by the "DaGraf" creative association and the "Zirikhgeran" Center for Cultural Initiatives, the biennale has been running since 2018.
This year event will span four venues: the medieval Akaila Kala watchtower in Kubachi, Makhachkala History Museum, the Poetry Theater and the Union of Artists exhibition hall.
Out of over 600 applications, approximately 830 works by 574 artists and students from 14 countries and 92 Russian settlements were selected across the "Ex Libris", "Book Graphics" and "General Theme" nominations. The competition program features 571 artists judged by experts from major cities, alongside an educational program of lectures, printmaking master classes and a plein air session in Kubachi.
