OMSK, July 24 – RIA "Dagestan". As part of the "Culture" national target project, A. Takho-Godi National Museum of Dagestan has brought its traveling exhibition "My Little Dagestan – My Vast World" to M. A. Vrubel Omsk Regional Museum of Fine Arts, featuring painting, graphics and ancient applied arts.
As to Chief Curator Zaira Kildeeva, the exhibition is built around materials gathered during Soviet expeditions of the 1920s–1930s. Omsk display highlights graphic works by celebrated artists, among them E. E. Lanceray, M. A. Dzhemal, D. A. Kapanitsyn, V. S. Shlepnev, N. A. Lakov, A. I. Markovskaya, L. D. Fishbein, M. P. Miturich and P. Franken.
In her description, these artists combined diverse pictorial methods with meaningful engagement with Dagestani folklore, articulating the republic’s unique spirit through personally resonant and tender interpretations. The display is augmented by two traditional costume ensembles that encapsulate coded aspects of ethnic identity.
As part of the grand opening, Omsk Museum was gifted an authentic Kaitag embroidery sample bearing sacred protective motifs. Director General Pakhrudin Magomedov underscored the museum’s dedication to sharing Dagestan’s traditions nationally, pointing out that this exhibition continues the momentum of the prior "My Dagestan" showcase in Omsk and aspires to promote tourism and cultural awareness.
