MAKHACHKALA, April 13 – RIA Dagestan. “I Fell in Love” by director Margarita Serova (Kaspiysk) has passed the first selection stage in the "Social Video Clip" category of the Kinokavkaz Film Festival.
From 600 applications, 70 works were shortlisted — the highest number in festival history, with entries from Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Spain, Mexico and Brazil. The in-person competition includes 22 short feature films, 17 short animated films, 9 television films, 13 documentaries and 9 social video clips.
Winners will be chosen by a jury of Russian film professionals. As to producer Artem Chelikin, the short feature category is the most competitive this year, animation submissions have grown and the youngest participant is 15.
The awards ceremony will take place on May 14–16 in Nalchik, hosted by the North Caucasus State Institute of Arts. An educational forum, open to all and with registration starting in mid-April, will also be held, producer Zarina Azhagoeva says.
