Flood Damage to Dagestan's Land Reclamation Infrastructure Estimated at RUB 250 Million

MAKHACHKALA, April 3 – RIA Dagestan. Damage to land reclamation infrastructure in the Republic of Dagestan caused by recent heavy rainfall is estimated at approximately RUB 250 million, Artem Korovin, Director of the Land Reclamation Department at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, told Interfax.

Korovin stated that federal authorities would seek additional funding to undertake urgent restoration efforts aimed at repairing damaged irrigation systems, drainage networks and other critical agricultural infrastructure.

Dagestan's Ministry of Agriculture reports that agricultural facilities have been damaged and farmland has been flooded in several districts across the republic. Authorities are now assessing the scale of crop losses and the potential long-term effects on soil quality.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation coordinates efforts with regional authorities to prioritize restoration work and minimize disruptions to the upcoming agricultural season. Technical assistance and emergency equipment have been deployed to affected areas to support local recovery efforts.
