Dagestani Businesses Increase Bank Borrowing by One-Third — Central Bank Reports

As of October 1, 2025, total business loans in Dagestan have reached nearly RUB 56 billion, marking a 34% increase over the same period in 2024, according to the Central Bank of Russia. This surge was largely driven by small and medium-sized enterprises, whose loan portfolios grew by 44.7% to RUB 30.6 billion.

Significant growth was also observed in the construction sector, fueled by the active use of project financing for housing development. Murad Idrisov, Head of the Bank of Russia's Dagestan Regional Directorate, reported a 31.5% increase in funds held in escrow accounts, which now total RUB 19.8 billion.
