MAKHACHKALA, July 21 – RIA "Dagestan". According to 2025 results, Dagestan ranks second among Russian regions in sweet cherry production, harvesting 13.5 thousand tons, the Center for Industry Expertise of the Russian Agricultural Bank reports.
Stavropol Krai led with 25.5 thousand tons, while Krasnodar Krai, Kabardino-Balkaria and Rostov Region each yielded around three thousand tons to round out the top five.
Russia's total sweet cherry harvest reached 54.8 thousand tons in 2025, up 2.5% from the previous year. The North Caucasian Federal District contributed 76% of the national output, with Stavropol Krai alone accounting for nearly half.
Analysts expect this year's crop to increase by about 10% and surpass 60 thousand tons.
