Dagestan chess championship for prizes given by the first president of the republic Mukhu Aliyev started in Makhachkala on August 2. The tournament is taking place in the Chess House. More than 60 chess players take part in the event.

On the first day of the competition Mukhu Aliev, Olympic champion in free-style wrestling Zagalav Abdulbekov, the deputy heads of the Sports Ministry Zainal Salautdinov and Gaidarbek Gaidarbekov, the chairman of city sport committee Magomed Sumenov and others attended official opening ceremony to greet the participants and wish them good luck.
