Yandex to teach Dagestan students

Makhachkala, February 17, 2019. Two educational projects Yandex.Lice and Yandex.Tutorial will be launched in the Republic of Dagestan. An agreement on this was signed by Sergey Snegirev, the Minister for Informatization, Communication and Mass Media of the region and Ilya Zalesky, the head of the Educational services Department of Yandex at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi.

Recall, “Yandex. Lyceum” is a network of educational centers that teaches high school students the basics of programming and information technology. At the end of the two-year free study, the guys receive a working specialty. Today the project covers 58 cities in Russia and Kazakhstan. “Yandex. Tutorial” is a service with tasks in mathematics and Russian language for the students of the second and fourth grades with automatic verification of answers and instant feedback.

As reported earlier, a meeting of Dagestani Prime Minister Artyom Zdunov and the project manager of Yandex.Lice Marina Susunova took place in Dagestan in the middle of December, 2018. The parties agreed on launching at least two sites of educational program in the cities of Makhachkala and Derbent in 2019. Besides, it is planned to open a distance group for children from remote areas of Dagestan.
