Makhachkala, February 18, 2019. The day before, on February 17, the regional Public Health Ministry held a visiting session visit, during which the issues related to the incidence rate of oncology among the residents of the region were discussed. According to the head doctor of the Republican Oncologic Dispensary, Vladimir Brezhnev, over 27 thousand Dagestanis are registered with the oncologists.

Brezhnev also noted that due to the implementation of various oncological programs aimed at the early detection of cancer pathology, the 5-year survival rate and the detectability of patients in the early stages increased. The primary care workers ensure the correct diagnosis and treatment of the patients with oncology.

Recall a clinic equipped with modern equipment designed for 200 visits per shift and a hospital with 40 beds are expected to be opened in Dagestan oncologic dispensary. The necessary funds for the construction of the center have been allocated from the federal budget after a corresponding appeal from the Head of Dagestan, Vladimir Vasilyev.
