The desire to get a higher education at all costs, which had been observed in Dagestan for many years, has given way to an awareness of impossibility to find a job. Dagestan residents have begun to understand that vocational secondary education provides both stable employment and high incomes.

The issues of development of secondary vocational education in the North Caucasian Federal District till 2030 were discussed during a videoconference. Magomed Abidov, the acting First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Dagestan, reported on the establishment of the Centre for training and retraining specialists of different ages in the republic. On the basis of this institution, 13 workshops on the most popular specialties started functioning.

At these workshops, the students get opportunity to acquire experience and skills that are not taught at theoretical lessons.
