The opening of the new Center for the identification and support of gifted children "Altair" is scheduled for 2022, the press service of the republican Ministry of Education and Science informs. Up to 240 children can study there every month in three areas: science, art and sports. For the construction of the Center, Dagestani Head Sergei Melikov transferred land with a total area of 14 hectares on the Tarki-Tau mount which was a governmental residence before.  The corresponding order had already been signed. Currently, the Government of the region is developing a project for the Center. It will consist of an educational building and a hostel.
