Makhachkala, July 18, 2018. Yesterday July 17, the Prime Minister of Dagestan Artem Zdunov and the deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for Affairs of North Caucasus Olga Rukhullaeva chaired a government meeting on the issues of development of port capacities in the cities of Makhachkala, Kaspiysk and Derbent.

The top officials also considered the prospects for the operation of special economic zones (SEZs): the current problems, the proposals for site selection and the plans for the implementation of investment projects with the support of the North Caucasus Development Corporation.

"We have many joint programs with the Ministry. It supervises the development of infrastructure and regulates the investment policy in the region. At the same time, there are projects, in particular, for special economic zones, that need to be rebooted. This should be done anyway, for the situation with the investors changed" - the prime minister said.

Having noted the insufficient proficiency of some ministries and departments in terms of implementation of programs under the aegis of the Ministry, Artem Zdunov said: "The situation will be corrected. Our meeting today, I think, will help to do this. We have unresolved the issues on land plots to invite the investors. Besides, we must seriously think about the reserve of state lands".

Olga Rukhullayeva expressed her confidence that, following the results of the meeting, a plan of the forthcoming joint work would be worked out in order to achieve the goals desired.
