The Iranian Trade House opened in Makhachkala (Dagestan) in September consolidates the agreements achieved during the recent visit of Kazem Jalali (the country's plenipotentiary ambassador to Russia) to Dagestan. The document boosts the turnover of the parties.

Within the framework of Russian-Iranian cooperation in its Dagestan location, it is discussed:

- the construction of a rice processing plant in Kizlyar district
- the creation of aquafeed production in the coastal zone of the Caspian Sea
- the project for the use of cargo ships in the Caspian waters
- the Iranian sprat fishing project

The key transport and logistics point was and remains Makhachkala Commercial Seaport (MCS), which is acknowledged as a potential southern Russian hub of the North-South transport corridor that runs through Dagestan and connects Russia with Iran, India and other countries.
