Makhachkala, October 28, 2016. The day before, October 27, the port-base of the Caspian Flotilla in Makhachkala (Dagestan) met the rocket ship "Tatarstan" and the small rocket ship "Grad Sviyazhsk" which returned after the military raid across the Caspian Sea, - the press service of the Southern Military District reports.

"Having attained the objectives of the military raid, the crews of the battleships returned to home port", - the press release runs.

During the military exercises, which lasted 20 days, the Russian sailors sailed 2 thousand nautical miles (about 3.6 thousand km) and conducted more than 30 naval exercises, having fulfilled the tasks on joint maneuvering, squadron control, and firing at sea targets. The crews of ships conducted exercises on ship damage control and the ship survivability.
The detachment of the Caspian flotilla ships during exercises, visited the ports of Iran and Kazakhstan.
