Kickboxer Ramazan Razakov wins bronze of European championship

Bilbao, Spain, November 17, 2014. Daghestani Ramazan Razakov won the bronze medal in full-contact at the European kickboxing championships which finished earlier in the week in Spain’s Bilbao, athlete’s coach Akhmed Akhmedov told RIA "Daghestan".

The Russian team was represented by 12 athletes at the championships with participation of a record 1,000 athletes. In the 63.5 kg weight, Russia was represented by a trainee of the "Matador" sports club from Kizlyar region – the only Daghestani athlete in the national team.

Razakov had his first bout with a Croatian athlete and gave him no chance to win. In the next bout, he fought against a world champion from Italy, winning all the rounds showing everyone his good sports fit.

In the semifinals, Daghestani athlete met with Hungarian Gabor Gorbich - a European and world champion. In the equal fight, judges chose Gorbich as the winner, and later he became a European champion and was recognized the best fighter of the tournament. Razakov finished with a bronze medal.

Ramazan Razakov is going to take part in the Russian Cup scheduled to run 8-11 December in Chelyabinsk in the 67 kg weight.
