Habib Nurmagomedov climbes to second place in UFC lightweights ranking

Makhachkala, August 27, 2014. Daghestani Habib Nurmagomedov climbed to the second place in ranking of the UFC lightweight fighters division, the official website of the organization reports. The recent changes in the ranking of lightweights occurred after the last day before the Oklahoma tournament UFC Fight Night 49 main event of which was the duel between American Ben Henderson and Brazilian Rafael Dos Anyos.

Brazilian previously defeated in the UFC from Habib Nurmagomedov, became the first fighter who managed to send the former UFC champion Hendersen to knockout. Henderson, in his turn, defeated another Daghestani Rustam Habilov, taking the latter on a rear naked choke at the beginning of the 4th round. Currently Habil occupies the 12th place in the rankings.

Nurmagomedov, last exited in the Octagon in April this year, climbed one spot in the rankings and is now lagging only on Mexican Americans Gilbert Melendez, who in turn shifted out Ben Henderson from the first place to the fourth one. American Anthony Petiss keep on holding the light division champion’s belt. On December 6 he defend the title in duel against Melendez.

Following the signing of a cooperation agreement with the UFC Daghestani Nurmagomedov held six winning duels under the organization.
