Dagestani para-taekwondo practitioners win gold medals at European championships

Chisinau, Moldova, April 22, 2015. Dagestani para-taekwondo practitioners Magomed Magomedov and Sevil Abdulova as part of the Russian national team won the European championships taking place today in Chisinau, Moldova, president of the Dagestan Para-Taekwondo Federation Ruslan Biyarslanov told RIA Dagestan.

Magomed Magomedov from Khasavyurt won the gold medal in the +75 kg weight, and Mahachkala’s Sevil Abdulova placed first in the 58 kg weight.
"As a rule, Dagestani athletes form the backbone of the national team. Most recently, para-taekwondo has become a Paralympic sport, it will be represented at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo in 2020, and I'm pretty sure that we will have been able to prepare athletes capable of winning the Games," Ruslan Biyarslanov said.

Dagestani athletes have been preparing for the European championships under the leadership of the senior coach of the Russian national team Arslan Biyarslanov.
