Dagestani judokas to compete for Grand Slam Tournament in Yekaterinburg

Makhachkala, May 17, 2017. Five Dagestani judokas will participate in the Grand Slam Tournament to be held May 20-21 in Yekaterinburg, the press service of the Russian Judo Federation informs.
The prestigious international competitions will gather the strongest judokas in the geographical center of the Urals. The Russian Federation presents the most representative team on the rights of the hostess. The combined team of Russia is headed by the Olympic champion Gasan Khalmurzayev.

Besides, the other five Dagestanis: the World Championship medalist Renat Saidov (+100 kg), the Russian champion and winner of the Grand Prix of Turkey Abdul Abdulzhalilov (66 kg ), the winner of the Russian championship Islam Khametov (66 kg ), the Grand Slam medalist in Tyumen Magomed Magomedov (90 kg) and the triumpher of the Russian championship, the Grand Prix winner of China Maksud Ibrahimov (100 kg) will compete with the world's leading athletes for the awards, rating points and the cash prizes of the Tournament.

The competitions in Yekaterinburg will last for two days, following which the medalists will be determined in seven weight classes. On Saturday, the winners in men's categories up to 60, 66 and 73 kgs. will be determined. On the second day of the competitions, the names of the winners in the weight categories 81, 90, 100 and over 100 kg will be announced.
