Dagestan ministry of sports to award best athletes of 2014

Makhachkala, January 19, 2015. On January 20, the conference hall of the Gamzatov National Library in Makhachkala will be hosting a ceremony of awarding the best Dagestani athletes of 2014, the press service of the republican ministry of physical culture and sports told RIA Dagestan. The ceremony will bring together athletes, their coaches, and heads of sports organizations and federations.

The ministry have determined the best 2014 athletes in Olympic, Deaflympic, Paralympic and non-Olympic sports. They are athletes having showed best results in their sports throughout the year basing on the points they have earned at the national, European and world championships. 6 wrestlers and 4 judokas proved to be the best in Olympic sports.

The best Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic athletes are: Abdussalam Gadissov, Abdulrashid Sadullayev, Magomed Kurbanaliev, Bekhan Goigereev (freestyle wrestling), Bilal Makhov (Greco-Roman wrestling), Kamal Han-Magomedov (judo), Abdul Kuramagomedov, Malik Kurbanov, Shakhban Kurbanov ( judo, blind sports), and Zemfira Magomedalieva (women's boxing).

The best non-Olympic athletes are: Sevil Abdulova, Magomedzagid Issaldibirov, Maryam Salimgereeva, Zainutdin Atayev (parataekwondo), Bassir Abakarov (kickboxing), Timur Aliev (soccer for persons with diabilities), Ramazan Sulebanov (MMA), Sultan Aliyev (combat sambo), Tagir Magomedov, and Yussuf Yussupaliev (arm for persons with diabilities).
