Makhachkala, September 2, 2015. Boxers from 17 countries have confirmed their participation in the XVII International tournament in memory of the outstanding state and political figure Magomed Salam Umakhanov, the press service of Dagestan ministry of physical culture and sports reports.

The tournament will be held in Makhachkala stadium "Trud" on September 7 - 13.

The application for participation in the tournament was sent to the representatives of sports delegations from Poland, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Bulgaria, Sweden, Israel, Spain, South Korea, Australia as well as from different regions of Russia.

Two combined teams will represent Dagestan at the tournament. Totally, about 130 boxers intend to participate.

The sportsmen will compete for medals in 12 weight categories: up to 49, 52, 56, 54, 57, 60, 64, 69, 75, 81, 91, 91 kg. Besides, sportswomen will take part in the tournament for the first time in the history of the tournament in three Olympic weights: up to 51, 60 and 75 kg.
