Big bike show of Russian bike rally to be held in Daghestan

Makhachkala, July 10, 2014. A big bike show, part of the "Moscow - North Caucasus - Moscow" bike rally, is scheduled for August 2014 to take place in Makhachkala, said members of the organizing committee – 1st deputy minister of physical culture and sports Zainal Salautdinov and members of the "Black Eagles" bike club Izmudin Zakaryaev Gadjimurad Akhmedov at the conference in RIA "Daghestan" today.

"The 4,000 km rally is celebrating the 100th anniversary of World War I, creation of the legendary "Wild Division", and the 200th anniversary of poet Mikhail Lermontov, whose life and death are forever associated with the Caucasus. It’s a really big event, about 500 bikers from different Russia regions including Daghestan are going to participate; 150-200 bikers will visit Daghestan.

The 2-weeks’ rally starts in Moscow on August 16. August 22-23, it will go through Daghestan – bikers will be met at the border with Chechnya to be escorted as far as Kalmykia. For the 2 days, participants will travel trough almost all Daghestan municipalities. A special tent camp will be set up in the former car market in the outskirts of Makhachkala to accommodate the visitors. Daghestan leg of the rally will culminate in a unique bike show at the "Trud" stadium in Makhachkala on August 23.
