Makhachkala, February 10, 2015. Dagestani rugby player Bayzat Hamidova as part of the Russian women's national rugby-7 team, took part in the second stage of the World Series, held on February 7-8 in Sao Paulo, the athlete’s coach Magomed Gadzhimagomedov says.

"As well as in similar event in Dubai, the Russian team has played not successfully in Brazil, obtaining the 7th place among the 11 teams. Bayzat Hamidova did not her best, although she gained to score a number of points. This season in the World Series is qualified for the Olympic Games. By results of the six stages, there will be chosen only four teams to participate in the Olympics.

Having performed in two stages, the Russian national team takes the 7th place with 14 points. To gain the 4th place occupied by the French rugby team, the Russian team should score 14 points more. In case, if our sportsmen cannot qualify for the Olympics Games through the World Series, they have a chance to qualify through the European championship"- M. Gadzhimagomedov concluded.

The Russian women's national rugby -7 team held 6 matches within the stage of the World Series in Brazil.

In the group stage, the Russians conceded Canadians with a score of 7:20, tied the game with the English team - 17:17, and defeated South Africa - 40: 0.
In the quarterfinals for 1-4 places, Russian rugby players again lost to Canadians with a score of 22:10, in the semifinals for 5-8 places, to the English sportsmen - 12:22. In the match for the 7th place, the Russian team gained a victory over Brazilian with a score of 12: 5.
The next stage of the World Series will be held on March 14-15 in Atlanta (USA).
