Stavropol hosts "North Caucasus Federal District: House of Friendship" youth festival

Makhachkala, October 28, 2015. The Russian students will get familiarized with the traditions of the peoples of the North Caucasus in the third festival "The North Caucasus Federal District: the House of Friendship" kicking off in the North Caucasian Federal University (NCFU).

This year, the festival has expanded its geography. This time, the event is attended by students from all the federal universities of Russia. The intellectual and creative competitions, exhibitions, conferences, games, crafts fair, sporting events, literary evenings, folk art concerts will be organized for guests, the Department of Information and Public Affairs of the University informs.

On the opening day of the festival, the participants will take part in the historical and geographical quest "Stavropol sung classics" and "Carnival cuisine", which will be held in coffee shops and cafeterias of the University. There will also be held competitions in archery, arm wrestling, stones throwing and weights lifting.

Besides, the students can learn about the crafts of the Northern Caucasus. The festival features more than a dozen workshops on embroidery training, glass designs, stained manufacturing skills, etc.

The Inter-Regional Forum for students to discuss the issues of youth policy, the unity of the Russians, as well as the traditional spiritual and moral and cultural values of the peoples of the North Caucasus will become a key event of the festival.

The festival ends on the National Unity Day on November 4, with a gala concert with participation of the best bands representing the North Caucasian universities. Besides, an ethnographic photography exhibition "Caucasus before me" will be held during the festival.
