Grozny, October 1, 2014. Popular Runet blogger Valentin Vassin held a master class for Caucasian bloggers as part of the "Wonders of Caucasus" blog tour of Chechnya, CEO of the North Caucasus Media Association Razhap Mussayev told RIA "Dagestan".

The "Wonders of Caucasus" tours are held by the North Caucasus Media Association with support of the Russian President’s Envoy in the North Caucasus Federal District. 15 bloggers from all around the Caucasus including Valentin Vassin came to Chechnya to take part in the regular blog tour.
At the master class, Vassin talked about how his fascination of blogs and social networks had started, how he developed and promoted his blog, and how it had started generating cash for him.

Speaking about the prospects of the Caucasian blogosphere, the blogger said they were the very platform to influence public opinion and demonstrate the region’s potential in reality, from the inside, with your own eyes; yet, mere statements, writing posts and publishing beautiful photos about it all was far not enough. To be heard by a large audience, you need to do much more.

Participants also discussed issues such as: first steps – starting a blog, blogs worth reading, bloggers to look up to, promoting yourself and your blog, attracting new readers, treating new readers, readers’ psychology, trolls and what they do, blogger’s ethics, commercial and political advertising, and prospects of Caucasian blogosphere.

This year, the Caucasian Internet award "Prometheus-2014" includes some special categories like "Travel", "People: Caucasian Hospitality" and "I like it!" for the participating bloggers. The awarding ceremony will be part of the 2nd NCFD Media Forum bringing together journalists and authorities.
For 4 days of the blog tour, participants visited the site of the future Veduchi resort, the deepest Caucasus lake Kezenoi Am, the medieval tower complexes, the ancient city of Hoi An's, the Aldama Gezi castle, the Hussein Issayev Local Hystory museum on the territory of the medieval Phakoch castle complex and the Hafiz school, the Gudermes reserve, and the Dondi-Yurt Ethnographic Museum.

The tour also featured a roundtable discussion on the state and prospects for developing electronic media and new media in Chechnya attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Policy, Press and Information Lema Gudaev.
Kabardino-Balkaria is the next in the line to host the last tour of "Wonders of Caucasus" series soon in October.
