Pyatigorsk, Stavropol region, November 27, 2014. On November 24, the first session of the educational project "Point of growth: tourism and hospitality" was held at the premises of the North Caucasus Federal University in Pyatigorsk, the Coordination Center for Youth Social Support told RIA "Dagestan".
The event brought together about 100 undergraduate and graduate students, heads of departments of tourism and recreation services, experts and business coaches. It was organized by the North Caucasus center of project management with the support of "Resorts of the North Caucasus" JSC, the Youth Policy Council under the Russian Presidential Envoy in the North Caucasian Federal District, and the Federal Agency of Youth Affairs.
The session had 2 main blocks: a seminar presentation "Developing youth entrepreneurship in the North Caucasian tourism cluster" and a workshop "Basics of developing youth business projects in tourism and hospitality".
At the seminar presentation, head of the North Caucasian Project Management Center Saad Kaziev presented the tourism cluster’s potential in establishing and developing small youth enterprises. During the presentation, participants learnt about the project of establishing a tourism cluster, governmental programs for supporting business start-ups, and what other businesses do in this line of work.
At the workshop, participants developed skills of working out business projects in tourism and hospitality and starting up a business in the territory of a tourism cluster with a view to obtaining a special economic zone resident status.
The next step of implementing the project is to conduct a regular session at the premises of the Kabardino-Balkaria State University.
