Muslims holy relic - Prophet Muhammad’s hair presented in Moscow

Moscow, February 3, 2015. The Mawlid al-Nabi evening is annually celebrated by Muslims all around the globe on Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. This year, it brought together about 6,000 spectators to the concert Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Dagestan Permanent Mission at the Russian President reported RIA Dagestan.

The event was organized by the department of social, charitable, spiritual and educational work of the Russian Council of Muftis and the Moscow Spiritual Board of Muslims with active participation of the Commission on Interreligious Affairs of the Public Council at Dagestan Permanent Mission.
The evening peaked with a ceremony of presenting a holy relic revered by Muslims worldwide - the Prophet Muhammad’s hair, delivered to Moscow from Makhachkala in a special flight for the first time ever.

"It’s a grace of Allah what we now have - an opportunity to look at a particle of our Prophet Muhammad. This hair had been through genetic analysis, it is under guarantee and it has one hundred percent certificate," said Chairman of the Russian Council of Muftis Ravil Gaynutdin at the ceremony.
The guests could also visit an exposition about the birth and life of Prophet Muhammad.

The celebration was perfectly complemented by famous nasheed singer Mahir Zein and other artists who came to the festival from various Russian regions including Dagestan to perform for the audience.
