Makhachkala, October 30, 2015. The City Assembly members have unanimously elected Musa Musayev as the new mayor of Makhachkala at the regular session on October 29. The Competitive Commission had selected three candidates of 13 ones submitted for municipal election. 39 deputies of the municipal legislative Assembly voted for Musayev’s candidacy.

13 candidates submitted documents for participation in the contest for the position of Makhachkala Mayor. For the approval of the competition commission city council Makhachkala were selected 3 candidate.

Musa Musayev was born in Makhachkala in 1966. Since July 10, 2015 Musayev served as the acting mayor of Makhachkala. In this position Musayev occurred to be the successor of Magomed Suleimanov, who on July 9 voluntarily resigned. Prior to that, M. Musa led by the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing RD since September 2013.
