Makhachkala, November 13, 2015. A monument to the prominent Soviet and Azerbaijani state and political figure Aziz Aliyev will be erected in Makhachkala. According to the detailed architectural plan, a small public garden will appear around the monument.

All the work on the erection of monument and landscaping the park will be completed by early spring 2016, the administration of Makhachkala reports.

Aziz Aliyev in different years was the People's Commissar for Public Health of Azerbaijan SSR, the chairman of the Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijan SSR, the first Secretary of Dagestan Regional Committee of the CPSU (b). Aziz Aliyev is a grandfather (maternal) to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
